HEALTH chiefs have reported good news in relation to the care it provides for cancer patients.
Dr Barry Silvert, told the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group’s public board meeting that performance in the area ‘remained strong’.
His report recorded that the CCG and Foundation Trust were continue to effectively work in partnership.
Cancer patients should be seen at an out-patient appointment within two weeks of being referred.
And year-to-date figures show that more than 97 per cent are being seen within this period, against a target of 93 per cent.
And improvements are also being made in the time women with breast pain and related issues are waiting to be seen.
In December more than 90 per cent of women with symptoms were seen within two weeks, against a target of 93 per cent.
