THE Beast from the East put a dent in Marie Curie's fundraising.
The cold weather front meant volunteers for the terminal illness charity had to cancel their March 3 collection on March 3.
The collection will instead take place on Saturday, April 14.
One of the volunteers said: "“We need more volunteers to help with the Bolton Collection in April to ensure it is a big success.
"The cold weather could leave a huge gap in our fundraising for this year’s appeal, which is why we want to make sure the street collection goes ahead and is the best it can be.
"Volunteering to collect donations in return for daffodil pins is a fun and easy way to get involved in the local community.
"You can collect with a friend or partner and know that you are helping Marie Curie be there when we are needed most."
Marie Curie says that the appeal is urgently needed as one in four people currently don’t receive the care and support they need at the end of their life, and with the population getting older, demand is set to increase.
