YOUNGSTERS at a Farnworth nursery have spent the week raising money for Bolton’s year-long Marie Curie appeal.
High Meadows Day Nursery’s fundraising culminated in Mini Pots of Care Day, which saw youngsters decorate pots containing daffodils, the charity’s symbol.
They took the pots home, and were giving the flower to a relative or friend in return for a donation.
All proceeds will go to the appeal, which was launched last June with a target of £200,000 to fund more free home nursing care for the terminally ill.
Louise Pickfield, High Meadows deputy manager said: ‘“We’ve raised more than £450 so far, with more to come. We’ve been having teddy bear picnics and tea parties all week. We planted our daffodil in the autumn and the children were so excited to see them bloom.”
