BOLTON Holidays always took place on the last week of June and the first week of July.
The town practically closed down for the holiday fortnight.
Popular resorts were Blackpool, Rhyl, Morecambe and Fleetwood and the Bolton Evening News was always on sale in the holiday resorts.
Over the next two weeks Looking Back will be bringing back some of those special memories and publishing some of our favourite photographs from our archives.
