THESE children were using flower power to help them learn in 1983.
They were among pupils at Sharples County Primary School who were given flower bulbs to grow at home.
The children discussed the growth of bulbs with their teachers and learned when to bring the plants out of the dark and into the light.
They were given advice about how warm to keep the plants and the amount of water to feed them. As a result, they grew a lovely range of flowers, which they then invited their parents to see at school.
The lovely flowers and plants would delight any mum on Mothering Sunday.
