MRS ANNE EDWARDS
WAYNE CROMPTON asks I am currently trying to contact a lady by the name of Mrs Anne Edwards (nee Settle) who I believe to be my second cousin, from Newton-le-Willows.
The attached picture shows my grandfather, James Henry Crompton (1882-1966) and the lady I presume to be his sister Alice Crompton (1885-1954).
The photo was taken around 1904, and his uniform is of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry, in which regiment he served from around 1902 until around 1918.
Alice Crompton married William Thomas Settle in 1908. Alice would be Anne’s grandmother.
I need confirmation that this lady is indeed Alice, and I am hoping that Anne could help, so if you can give me any information I would be very grateful.
