A REAL life Goldilocks from Horwich let down her hair... to have it chopped off for charity.

Generous Molineux Matthews has donated half her locks to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for child cancer patients, and also donated sponsorship money of £540.

The seven-year-old, who attends Cleveland Preparatory School in Heaton, decided to get her first proper hair cut after it became too hard to manage.

But when she heard about the trust, she did not think twice about sending 12 inches of her hair to the cause.

Molineux's mum, Susanna Matthews, aged 37, said: "I have to say it was a shock when her hair came off because it's her first proper cut aside the occasional trim. She could sit on it before, it was so long.

"As she sat in the hairdresser's chair her poor dad Gary was near to tears and I had to send him out of the room.

"I am really proud of her for donating it to such a good cause."

Molineux added: "I love it. I'm going to grow it back so I can donate again."
