A CRASH involving two vehicles has caused mayhem on the M61 this morning.
Traffic is queueing on M61 northbound at junction 6 near Horwich and congestion is forming back to the junction 3 of the M61 on the Kearsley spur.
Three lanes were closed until 8.45am and traffic was stopped for a short time, away from Farnworth towards Chorley, while the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder.
Traffic is moving slowly from Kearsley and on the A6 as traffic diverts, and traffic in Westhoughton is also experiencing delays because of the diversion.
Traffic is moving very slowly on the A6 Manchester Road northbound between the A58, Park Road, at Chequerbent Roundabout, and the A673, Chorley Road.
The delays are also affecting traffic heading away from Over Hulton towards Atherton.
