THIS pictures shows a scene we feel many of our readers will be familiar with.
The photograph was taken in August 1955 and shows Horwichβs, then, new Garden of Remembrance at the Scholes Bank and Lever Park Avenue corner.
βIt is an attractive spot with its lawns and flowers,β said the caption to the photograph.
What we particularly like is the fact that clearly a number of mums have gathered with their children in prams to chat and enjoy the sunshine.
If you take a close look at the scene you will see the prams are very traditional of the 1950s and very different to the type used by parents today.
We would love to hear from you if you have memories of sitting in this pretty little park in the summer.
Perhaps you remember it being built.
We are unsure why it was built so would love to hear from you if you know more about it.
