BOLTON Wanderers have asked fans for help in naming their new bar and grill.

An extensive refurbishment is currently taking place at the former Pure Bar and Brasserie as it makes way for a sports-themed bar and a grill-style restaurant at the Whites Hotel.

Names for the new establishments have not yet been decided, however, so the club have thrown the door open for suggestions.

A launch event is planned in July once the work is complete – and Wanderers chairman Ken Anderson has already thrown his hat into the ring proposing the name “Goslin’s Bar and Grill” after the former club captain Harry Goslin who inspired his team-mates to sign up for the Territorial Army at the outbreak of the Second World War and was later killed in action.

“The suggestion for the grill doesn't necessarily have to have a football theme or a Bolton one,” explained top chef Paul Heathcote, whose company operate the hotel catering. “We are an independent international hotel with visitors from all walks of life so keep your ideas open.”

Suggestions can be made to re-name the bar, the grill, or both.

Potential names should be emailed to refurb@boltonwhiteshotel.co.uk by June 12 when a panel will make their final decision.
