A NUMBER of vehicles and houses were targeted by thieves during the recent hot weather.
Police in Horwich and Blackrod have issued a warning about leaving doors and windows unlocked.
They said that a number of break-ins took place through unsecured doors and windows.
People are reminded to make sure their property is secured when leaving it unattended and to avoid leaving keys on the inside of locks where they keys could be reached if a window or glass pane is smashed.
Officers added to keep doors in good repair, so they cannot be easily forced and to ensure all valuables are removed from display.
