THOUSANDS of people are expected to flock to the Macron to browse all the goodies on sale at the first car boot sale of the year.

The event at the Horwich stadium will be held tomorrow (March 11) and will include hundreds of traders selling a range of items from their vehicles and stalls.

Andrew Smith, organiser at National Car Boot Sales, which runs the event, said he was expecting anywhere from 300 to 400 traders to set up on the stadium's car park.

He said: "We have been doing car boot sales for 20 years and we go all over the country including to Cardiff, Bristol and Lancaster.

"We came to Bolton three years ago and it really took off. It went really well.

"So people will have burgers, cakes, bric-a-brac and market stalls."

He said there will also be a raffle ticket given to the first 100 customers who attend with the chance to win £100.

He said: "I am really looking forward to it. We have been working all winter and it should be a good day.

"We can not wait for the event to open and we have so many regular customers. I think we have about 200 customers who come to the event every year."

It is the first Bolton car boot sale of the year at the Macron and it will take place every Sunday until the last event on October 28.

Traders can arrive at the event from 7am and the gates will open for customers from 7.30am.

The sale will go on until 2pm and Mr Smith said there would be activities for children.

The company also holds a regular car boot sale at the Wigan Athletic DW Stadium, which will begin this month on Sunday, March 25.

These will also end on October 28.

Mr Smith said this event would be unique as it was the town's only afternoon car boot sale, taking place from 11am to 5pm.

These will also be held every Sunday

Anybody who is interested in being a trader or attending the event as a trader or a customer can find more information on the event's Facebook Page — Bolton Car Boot Sale.
