‘Handful’ arrested at Millwall clash

A HANDFUL of arrests were made during the Bolton Wanderers v Millwall match, police said.

The Championship teams drew 1-1 at the Reebok on Saturday.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “There were a small number of arrests. There were about two or three, the usual kind of low-level public order offences.”

A police operation had been in force to ensure there was no trouble when the 1,100 Millwall supporters visited.

It had been feared that tensions would run high following allegations that Wanderers striker Marvin Sordell had been racially abused when the sides met at The Den last October.

A Millwall fan also caused a storm last year when he posted a mocked-up picture of Sordell on Facebook showing him splattered with blood and with a gun pointed at him.

Starvin Marvin is causing more trouble than he's worth.Addicted to tweeting, what kind of infantile crap is that?Home sick for Watford, who the hell gets home sick for Watford, okay maybe Sir Elton. The amount he gets paid for the time he plays he must get paid more per minute than puddiing face Rooney. To top it all off if he turns out to show any promise he will be whisked away byone of the TOP clubs.Grow up Marvin. This comment has nothing to do with the above article but the so far so good article has no comments attached.

A bigger problem to me was on walking down to the ground 20 feet from the entrance someone had thrown down a new unbroken disposable stanley knife, This i found disturbing as i dont want either side of fans to be carrying these, there is no place for these at football, I pointed it out to a Policeman who picked it up. I would have liked the CCTV 's to have been checked and whoever threw it traced.
