ANOTHER hospital ward has been closed due to the spread of norovirus.
A surgical ward was closed at the Royal Bolton Hospital after the presence of norovirus was confirmed yesterday.
It comes the day after three wards were closed because of the winter vomiting bug. One of the wards, a complex care ward, has since reopened. A number of hospital bays are currently under observation.
The superbug can cause vomiting and diarrhoea. To avoid the spread of the virus, people who have had it are asked to avoid visiting hospitals or care homes until they been symptom-free for at least 48 hours.
