BOLTON North East MP David Crausby has signed a book of commitment in the House of Commons pledging his support to Holocaust Memorial Day Sunday will mark the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi concentration and extermination camp which was the site of the biggest mass murder in history.
The Holocaust Educational Trust recently placed a book of commitment in the House of Commons, giving MPs the chance to honour those who were persecuted and killed during the Holocaust and encourage constituents to work together to combat all forms of prejudice.
Mr Crausby, pictured, said: “Holocaust Memorial Day is an important opportunity to remember the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides. It is a time in our history that cannot afford to be forgotten.
“I would encourage everyone to mark the day and join members of all communities in the fight against prejudice and intolerance.”
Karen Pollock, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, added: “We are proud that Mr Crausby is supporting Holocaust Memorial Day once again.”
