Bin rounds disruption

SNOW and icy conditions caused disruption to bin collections in Horwich.

Tuesday’s roads and traffic chaos had a knock-on effect for waste collection rounds.

Residents in Horwich reported that their beige, burgundy and green bins had not been picked up by the bin wagons on their scheduled collection day.

In a statement on Bolton Council’s website, residents were informed that missed beige and burgundy bins will be collected today and green bins will be collected on the next scheduled collection day.

Residents were advised to present their grey bin as usual on their next collection date. The beige and burgundy bins will only be collected where a whole street was missed out of the round. Go to bolton.gov.uk/website/ pages/Bincollections

why is it pray tell me the council grit our roads so called to help us all get to work oand keep the country moving
why is it thenthat council workers do the least amount of trying when it comes to these days ie bin men and schools if its not safe for council workers to make the effort why is it deemed good enough efforts on their part to ensure the rest of us have a chance of getting to work

it can take me 2 hours or more to get to work on a snowy day thats 6 miles each way making 4 hours but at least I try and don't often fail to get there late maybe but at least i try

They warn of fines for leaving bins out too early and too long after collection, thinking that the whole population of Bolton sit at home and do not work.

Because the council along with teaching staff think that a little snow deserves an extra holiday not even considering how the hell people can find a solution to kids off school and parents working time.

Because Bolton council are a f.ing joke doing business in a joke fk'd up town where immigration, ghetto's and dodgy council dealings are number one priority.

The council treat every working household in this town with utter contempt. It is time people came together to issue class actions against these complete idiots.

I think and purely my own thoughts
A petition should be raised next year to keep our schools open com ewhat may weather wise to help parents keep their kids in school and get our bins emptied or get a rebate on our council tax for services not supplied
especially when its their departments that are supposed to be keeping our roads running smoothly
it was strange only 1 bin got emptied lasttime it snowed,, how is it they managed to do their work efficiently when others didn't

lets break school days down into days and bin empties into weeks and every timne they fail we just get a rebate to that cost
lets face it if you bought soemthing and it didnt arrive or failed to perform to its specifications you would want your money back quickly
even sky and virgin give you credit for days they dont provide a service during your contract so lets get the council doing the same

That's right! These so-called 'children' demanding we look after them all the time! Lazy scroungers if you ask me. Send em back up the chimneys if it snows!!

Maybe if ordinary people could join political parties and stand for the council we could fix this...but you can't because that's a magical process NOBODY knows about. All we're allowed to do now is moan on messageboards.

oh no here we go again lets all slag the binmen off "the lazy set of barstewards" ha ha you stupid stupid people make me laugh, 1. fact, if your grey bin gets missed due to the conditions being too hazardous, the following week the "lazy binmen" will remove your excess side waste within reason, (you can't expect to have 10+ black bin bags removed because you think it's ok to have big clear out because you've missed one collection) 2. fact. Although the Council gritters did an excellent job in gritting the main roads, they were unable to grit every sideroad/back street in the borough where the majority of bins are collected from. 3.fact. not all your council tax is spent on your refuse collection(you pay about 75 pence a week to have it removed and disposed of) so go ahead ask for a rebate, but then you'd have to take your own rubbish to the tip and how much do you think that will cost ? 4. fact if everybody in Bolton recycled more and correctly, the greybins wouldn't be over flowing with rubbish after one missed collection. 5. fact if a 25 tonne bin wagon slid on snow/ice and then smashed into a parked car, or a house or through the gates of a school play ground then The Bolton news would have a field day with it's headlines and you lot would be up in arms (and quite rightly so) instead of banging on and on about such trivial matters... Shock Horror!!!! "bin with one wheel not collected" or "Snow one's bin's emptied" and finally 6. fact. come this May everyone will once again be ranting over their bins not being emptied weekly when the council reverts to fortnightly collection. and once again the streets of Bolton will be strewn and awash with refuse and detrius, and on who will the good people of Bolton vent their anger and aim their abuse ?
