Channel M was poor and barely viewable in Bolton apart from the extreme south of the town.It failed partly due to a weak signal and also the recession at the time. I would rather see a Bolton TV channel. We are not Manchester and never will be or want to be. It mystifies me why local radio lumps us with Manchester and we are big enough to have our own radio and TV stations. I've no interest in Didsbury or Levenshulme or Cheetham Hill.

is covered by the station, then we will be looked on as part of Manchester by outsiders. Hope we all have nothing to do with it

Others: Channel M failed due to Guardian Media Group (GMG) going through financial problems and their best way was to cut funding to the TV station and try to sell it - no one bought it and, after MEN and other local newspapers were sold by GMG, there was no use for the channel due to lack of local news gathering, and as uch they closed it. But Channel M lasted for at least a decade - starting off as a University TV Channel for Salford!!!
