n LIBERAL Democrat councillors, former councillors and activists attended a conference in Bolton on Saturday to discuss how to respond to their party’s poor performance in the recent council elections.
More than 100 people attended the event at Friends Meeting House in Silverwell Street, Bolton, to discuss future plans.
The LibDems now have only three seats on Bolton Council — a dramatic drop as they were in charge of the town hall only a few years ago.
North West MEP Chris Davies told the meeting: “Councillor numbers have gone down across the region.
“We are here licking our wounds and looking at how we can be more effective. We are looking at what went wrong and how others can learn from that.”
