Assault victim’s ear bitten off

A MAN needed reconstructive surgery after part of his ear was bitten off.
Detectives believe the assault happened some time between 3.45am and 4am on Sunday, near to the taxi rank at the junction of Spinning Jenny Way and St Helens Road in Leigh.
Det Con Richard Willoughby said: “The area was quite busy around the time of this incident and I hope that someone in this crowd may have witnessed this assault.
“Anyone who can help our investigation is asked to call us.”
