ONE of the North West’s most celebrated poets is coming to Bolton as part of a series of new cultural events being held at Bolton Central Library in partnership with the University of Bolton.

The Live Literature Series is a trio of free performances by renowned poets and novelists.

The next event will feature poet Michael Schmidt and novelist Cath Staincliffe on Tuesday, November 12, at 7pm.

The final performance takes place on Tuesday, December 3, and showcases the work of poets Clare Shaw and Anne Caldwell.

Anne is also a creative writing senior lecturer at the University of Bolton.

She said: “These events are an opportunity for Bolton’s residents and students to hear some wonderful readings and see performances from some of the nation’s most talented writers.

“The university has always had strong links with the library service and these joint events celebrate this fruitful relationship. Plus, the readings are free, so there is no excuse to miss them. “ The events are free with light refreshments served and will be held at Lecture Theatre Two, Bolton Museum and Art Gallery, Le Mans Crescent, Bolton.
