TURTON Golf Club raised £1,900 to help Bolton Lads’ and Girls’ Club’s Atlantic Challenge rowers hit their £250,000 fundraising target.
Activities including a ladies Weightwatchers-style weigh-in and a competition to name Royal baby Prince George before he was born helped get the cash together.
The most successful fundraising event was a sponsored leg and chest wax which raised £530.
Donna Fisk, BLGC fundraising manager, said: “All money raised will go towards our Bolton Atlantic Challenge fund which will be directed towards our Junior Mentoring programme”.
Mark Brocklehurst, Finn Christo, Matt Nuttall and Nick Griffiths completed the 3,000-mile race against 44 teams from around the world over Christmas.
They completed the trek from southern Spain to Antigua in 59 days finishing eighth.
