MP Julie Hilling met with genocide survivors at the launch of preparations for next year’s Holocaust Memorial Day.
The Member of Parliament for Bolton West co-hosted the event in the House of Commons, which has the theme ‘Keeping The Memory Alive’.
She met with Iby Knill, who survived the Holocaust, and Bosnian War survivor Safet Vukalic. Ms Hilling said: “Iby and Safet’s stories are a reminder of the importance of marking Holocaust Memorial Day – a day where we remember the millions who were affected by the Holocaust and other genocides. “I would encourage all residents here in Bolton West to mark HMD on January 27, 2015.”
