A JUDGE has ruled a man who admitted attacking his partner but claimed it was his “second personality” cannot be sentenced until a full psychiatric report has been completed.

Bolton Crown court heard Daniel Cashmore attacked his partner Marsha Tarvet with a seven-inch knife after a row where his cockney-voiced second personality, known as Gabby, “manifested” and threatened to slit her throat.

Cashmore, aged 37, of Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe, then phoned the hospital and admitted what he had done to a mental health practitioner, who phoned the police.

The incident happened after a row about Ms Tarvet “putting things on Facebook”.

Ms Tarvet said in a statement: “Gabby manifested itself again and voiced, in a cockney accent, ‘don’t do it’. I cut the (internet) cable and Daniel flew into a rage, pushing me into the corner of the kitchen and grabbed a knife.”

Adjourning sentencing, Judge Peter Davies ordered the prosecution to complete a psychiatric report.
