HORWICH Liberal Democrats are warning that the Loco Works plan will cause chaos and gridlock in Horwich without a better deal on roads and school places.
Town councillor and Horwich LibDem leader Steve Rock, pictured, has called on Bolton Council to defer the decision on the Rivington Chase development, which will see 1,700 new homes built.He said: “The 1,700 new homes could mean 3,400 new cars.
“There are already traffic problems around Horwich, especially on Chorley New Road. These plans threaten to leave Horwich in never-ending gridlock.”
The scheme, which is recommended for approval, will be debated at a special meeting of the planning committee tomorrow.
