GENEROUS shoppers will help feed more than 500 people thanks to a successful supermarket collection.
Food bank volunteers collected 246kg of food at the Farnworth Asda on Saturday.
The food donated was enough to provide 580 meals for struggling families in Bolton.
Alex Malone, Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank manager, said: “Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank wants to say a big thank you to all those who gave their food or time on Saturday.
“It is hard to describe the difference giving a food parcel makes to parents whose children would otherwise go to bed hungry and it is people like you who make this possible, thank you.”
