A SUPERMARKET has lost its bid to extend its hours at a Westhoughton branch.
Bosses at Tesco Express in Manchester Road applied to the council for permission to open from 6am until midnight every day of the week.
However officers at Bolton Council refused their request, arguing that because the shop is in a residential area it would lead to more noise and activity late at night, affecting nearby residents.
