THE Young Shakespeare Company brought one of the Bard's most iconic tragedies to junior school children at Bolton School.
M acbeth was performed for years five and six girls — and the pupils did more than watch they were called on to help set the scene such as creating the spooky sounds of the Scottish heath, they helped to create the tension of Macbeth and Banquo's meeting with the witches
They were also involved as King Duncan’s attendants and at Macbeth’s coronation ceremony.
The Young Shakespeare Company's storyteller also quizzed the girls lots of questions in between full scenes in Shakespearean language, ensuring that they understood the complexities of the play.
They were encouraged to explore the thoughts, feelings and motivations of the characters in various scenes as well.
