CHILDREN from Bolton have the chance to go in search of Santa Claus this Christmas by embarking on a magical trip to the 'north pole'.
Nominations are now being accepted for this year's trip where a plane full of deserving children and their parents will take off for a ride in an aeroplane following a winter wonderland reception at Manchester Airport.
Youngsters who have had a difficult year or two due to family tragedy or illness who are accepted will be able to meet Father Christmas on board, sing Christmas songs and get a special present.
The hour-long flight, called Search for Santa, is being arranged by A Day of Sunshine, a charity which raises money to take deserving youngsters on trips.
David Lee from the charity, said: "Last year's trip was a real success and the children loved it. This year we want to make it just as memorable for those who are selected to go, so we will have characters from Frozen welcoming them at the airport along with the Manchester Airport Choir who will be singing Christmas songs.
"They will take off to the pretend north pole, although it's really a fly in the air where they will meet Santa who will be beamed up before the plane heads back to the airport. It's a really nice memory for those who might have had a tough year to forget about their problems for a few hours."
