A NEW business based in Bolton, Bank Account Claim, says it has rapidly become the UK market leader in relation to mis-sold bank accounts.

Bank Account Claim seeks to recover compensation for ordinary individuals who have been mis-sold packaged bank accounts for which they pay a monthly fee for added extras such as travel or mobile phone insurance. Approximately 20 million packaged bank accounts have been sold by the banks.

Director Daniel Fallows said: “The truth is, these accounts were an easy sale for the banks and a highly profitable one too. Banks frequently upgraded their customers, didn’t check if the customers needed the extras and gave them little option but to pay between £15 to £25 per month for their everyday bank account.”

“We have seen the banks act on our complaints promptly and provide full refunds plus 8 per cent compensatory interest to customers.”

“The scale of this mis-selling could be yet another banking scandal like PPI.”

Since July, the team at Bank Account Claim has grown from two members of staff to 10 to accommodate the growth in number of customers wishing to reclaim their monthly bank account fees. The business has plans to continue its recruitment drive as workloads increase.
