THE Liberal Democrats have selected Bolton Council’s youngest councillors to run against Julie Hilling to become the next MP for Bolton West.
Cambridge law graduate and fitness instructor Cllr Andrew Martin, aged 22, has been selected at the Lib Dem’s prospective parliamentary candidate for the marginal seat.
Cllr Martin, who represents Smithills in the council chamber, said while in government his party has made sure every child in Bolton gets the best possible start in life.
He said: “In spite of the mess left by Labour, since 2010 the Liberal Democrats have given schools in Bolton an extra £41million in funding, delivered over 12,000 new apprenticeships in Bolton and ensured over 11,000 children in Bolton will receive a free school meal daily.”
