A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been handed to a man who assaulted a woman on Christmas Eve.
At Bolton Magistrates Court Rory Grady, aged 39, of St Gregory’s Close, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and to stealing toys, worth £105 from Tesco on December 17.
He was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to have treatment for drug dependency for four months.
Grady must also pay £50 compensation, £125 prosecution costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim
