THE dreams of teenager Charly Jane Billington have come true.

At the age of 13 Leigh girl Charly Jane was selected at an audition with more than 200 young hopefuls to dance with the English Youth Ballet.

She will appear in the ballet Coppelia at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre for three performances on November 9 and 10 dancing alongside EYB’s international principal artists.

She will play the role of a Czardas dancer and will also appear in the Dance of the Morning Hours.

The St Mary’s Catholic High pupil, who trains at the Apple Dance Centre in Leigh, will experience the life of a professional ballet dancer – working at the Greenbank High School in a 10-day intensive rehearsal process.

Charly Jane said: “I started dancing when I was three. The thing I love most about dancing is performing and getting to be on stage and everyone watching me.

“In Coppelia I will dance in the Night Hours dance and will also be a character dancer.

“When I am older I’d really like to dance on stage as my job.”

EYB company manager Ben Garner said: “Working with English Youth Ballet will most probably be the highlight of these talented young dancers’ careers to date. The audiences watching EYB are in for a unique and exciting experience too.

“They will be seeing both top international principal artists and the best up-and-coming talent sharing the stage.”
