CAMPAIGNERS opposing a massive housing development scheme on open land between Howe Bridge and Hindsford expect revised plans to be reviewed by a Government Inspector towards the end of February.

The Save Atherton South has informed supporters that amendments to the outline plan to designate the site for 1,250 homes mean that Lodge Farm along with a parcel of land to the south will not form part of the South Of Atherton development.

Campaigner Gerald Butler said: "We still need your support, the designation of what we consider to be Greenbelt land for housing is not acceptable when there are other sites which are more suitable for designation. We will be working hard to present the best case possible for the people of Atherton to object to these proposals.
