Did Welsh Staffy head for Leigh?

A COACH driver who ferried fans from South Wales to a soccer match is making a desperate appeal for the return of his dog which went missing after the game.
Steven Harrison drove Cardiff City fans to Bolton on November 3, and was accompanied by his beloved dogs, Staffordshire crosses Pippin and Nipper, who had travelled with him to football grounds across the country.
But after the Whites’ 2-1 victory over the Welsh side, fireworks were set off at the Reebok for Bonfire Night, startling the dogs, which bolted from the coach, forcing their way through the doors which were shut.
Mr Harrison, from Cardiff, went after his pets, and managed to find Nipper, but Pippin, his brother, was nowhere to be seen and in the weeks that have passed since the game he believes the dog may have strayed to the Leigh or Hindley areas.
The 58-year-old said: “We are desperate to get him back.
“Nipper is heartbroken and is pining for his brother.
“We all miss him. He is part of my family.”
After taking the fans back to Cardiff, Mr Harrison returned to Bolton and took three days off work to search the area for his missing pet.
Mr Harrison has posted Pippin’s details on websites for missing pets, which has generated plenty of support and help, but so far, no sightings of Pippin have been reported.
He said: “I have been searching everywhere and contacted all the vets and animal shelters in the area but he has still not turned up.
“I can’t sleep at night, Nipper isn’t sleeping at night. We can’t go on like this.
“I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t find him. We have got to have him back.”
Pippin is dark brindle with white on his face and chest. He is not microchipped.
Mr Harrison is offering a £500 reward for information leading to the return of Pippin.
Anyone with information can contact Mr Harrison on 07966 276 215 or Bolton RSPCA on 01204 521 160.
