AFTER playing to sell-out audiences for their family pantomime, 'Mother Goose', it was a real case of standing room only at Tyldesley Little Theatre.

Following a welcome grant of £8,000 from Viridor Credits towards the cost of new seating, the popular Lemon Street playhouse sold the old seating to a buyer in Leeds.

A theatre spokesman said: "After they had been collected, for a time there really wasn't a seat to be had in the house, in fact there weren't any seats at all. We were thinking of offering our patrons the experience of watching our next play from a new angle - the floor.

However, the new seats eventually arrived and were fitted with only days to spare before the start of the next TLT production, ' Flamingoland'.

This was TLT's third grant from Viridor Credits, who have contributed to many things around the theatre over the past four years. The gents' toilets, decorating, a re-styled basement, new stage lighting and much needed roof repairs were some of the Viridor-sponsored projects.

Flamingoland runs from January 29 until February 2, call 01204 655619 to book.
