ATHERTON St Phillip's were crowned champions at the Y3/4 mixed hockey festival held at the former Hesketh Fletcher school.
Seven schools entered the Atherton Primary Sports Association competition: Tyldesley St. George's Central, Meadowbank, St. Michael's, St. Philip's, Parklee, Atherton St. George's and Chowbent.
The schools were split into two mini leagues with the top school from each league qualifying for the final and the second team in each league going into play offs.
St. George's Central central beat Parklee 5 - 2 to finish 3rd overall and St. Philip's beat Chowbent 2 - 0 to take the title.
"I'd like to thank our referees, Emma McMahon of Parklee and Lynn Hayes from the Greengrass Centre," said event organiser Mark Grogan, head at St George's Central.
Now rebranded as the Atherton and Tyldesley Sports Association the next events are mixed football leagues for the Atherton section starting on Feb 21, at the former Hesketh Fletcher site. Tyldesley schools' events will start on Monday, February 25 at Fred Longworth High School.
