A Trust spokesman said during this period there may be intermittent spells lasting of under 10 minutes duration when the main telephone system will be closed down.
Mobile telephones and radio systems will be used alongside the backup telephone system in key clinical areas to ensure essential communications can be maintained but people who need to make a call are asked to be patient and try again if connection fails.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we ask for everyone’s ongoing support and patience whilst the upgrade is applied," said the spokesman.
