ASTLEY butcher Gabbotts Farm has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s Great Bacon Revolution Awards, a national competition devised to showcase Britain’s very best bacon cures.
Gabbots Farm’s cherry smoked bacon saw off competition from hundreds of other products to make the final for this year’s Smoked Cure Award, in the butchers category, part of the annual Great Bacon Revolution competition.
Two other products entered from Gabbotts Farm included the sweetcured lowsalt and maple syrup and the Italian streak with fennel, garlic, black pepper and other ingredients achieved Gold Awards.
A Gabbotts Farm spokesman said: “Our cherry smoked recipe is simple – our bacon is homecured and homesmoked. That’s the reason why it is so delicious.”
The winners of the Great Bacon Revolution awards will be announced on Monday, March 18.
