Nurse from Accrington gets royal honour

ACCRINGTON nurse Janet Sarsfield has been given a prestigious title after dedicating herself to East Lancashire patients over 40 years.

Janet has been made a Queen’s Nurse by the Queen’s Nursing Institute – recognising her commitment to high standards of care, learning, and leadership.

The specialist diabetes nurse, who lives in Huncoat, began as a nurse cadet at the age of 16 and worked in Burnley for many years.

She now works at Accrington Pals Primary Health Care Centre with colleagues she describes as the ‘A team’.
