A TRIATHLETE and soon-to-be ironman can get on his bike thanks to a Culcheth-based firm of chartered accountants.

Former teacher Dave Clamp has completed more than 100 marathons and endurance events and last year he ran 1357 miles from London to Rome to raise money for sufferers of Parkinson’s.

The personal trainer’s next challenge will be in Lake Garda in September when he tries to complete 30 Ironman competitions in 30 days in the Triple Deca Ironman Challenge and Styles and Co chartered accountants have provided the £2,000 bike for training and competing.

Members of staff at the Warrington Road office in Culhceth are put through their paces on a weekly basis when they attend Dave’s boot camps and many are training for their own challenge – the Total Warrior in August.

Ian Lloyd, managing partner of Styles and Co, said: “We are very proud to be able to provide Dave with financial support for his 2013 challenges.

“Over the past six months he has very much become part of our team; his enthusiasm and commitment to his own training and work has been extremely motivational and infectious.”

Dave said: “I’m thoroughly enjoying working with the team and seeing their progress is an inspiration to me.

“Having their support and backing is a real boost in many ways and the new carbon fibre bike is already being put to very good use during my training.

“Their support has in turn motivated me to increase my training intensity.”
