Year 7 trio get their Maths results four years early at Fred Longworth High, Tyldesley

A TRIO of students who sat their GCSE Maths exam four years early achieved remarkable results.
Fred Longworth High Year 7 boys were delighted and the whole school applauded their success.
Matthew Roberts achieved an A* grade, Marcus Ko gained an A and Leon Smith-Morris got a B.
An amazed Matthew said: “I feel so lucky that I’ve had the chance to do this and my teachers have made it possible. I only expected an A or B so I’m over the moon.”
His excited mother, Andrea, was stunned: “I’m speechless for the first time ever!”
Mr Frank MacArthur, Director of Numeracy at the school,said: “The boys have worked extremely hard over the six months prior to their examinations and were all quietly confident of doing very well.
“It is a fantastic achievement considering they were just 12 years old when they took the examination. It is a proud day for the Maths Department and is the icing on the cake for record departmental and whole school results.”
