Swap meeting for Wigan and Leigh Housing and housing association tenants who want to move
7:20am Friday 30th August 2013 in NW
COUNCIL and housing association tenants who are looking to swap their home can find out more at an event on Wednesday, September 4, organised by Wigan and Leigh Housing.
Those living in both over occupied or under occupied properties will have the chance to meet and hopefully find their property match. They will also be able to find out how to register for a home swap.
Sara Murray from Wigan and Leigh Housing’s Property Shop, says: "Tenants often look to change location, move to a larger property or downsize. This is an ideal opportunity for people with spare bedrooms, especially those affected by the bedroom tax, families who are experiencing overcrowding or anyone who’s interested in swapping their home to take a look at the houses across the borough that are available for mutual exchange.”
The event will take place from 6pm to 8pm at St Cuthbert’s Rugby Club, Montrose Avenue, Norley Hall, Wigan and is open to all council and housing association tenants within the borough.
Tenants looking to swap homes can also advertise their property and view homes available for swap on Wigan and Leigh Housing’s website www.walh.co.uk (search for Mutual Exchange) or visit Wigan and Leigh Housing’s Property Shops located in the Life Centres at Wigan or Leigh.
To register to attend the home swap event please email email@example.com or text your name/address to 07797 806 546 or tel. 0800 3897652. Tenants must get permission from their landlord before applying to exchange homes.
