Homophobic graffiti on Golborne house being treated as hate crime
3:45pm Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in NW
HOMOPHOBIC graffiti, found on a house in Golborne, is being treated as a hate crime.
The offenders painted the windows of the front door and wrote graffiti on the living room windows of the Rivington Avenue house on September 2 sometime between 3am and 8.30am.
Police Constable Lawrence McDonald, based at Leigh Police Station, said: “The victim is obviously upset to have woken up and found her home has been damaged. Some of the graffiti was homophobic and we are treating this as a hate crime.
“This is not the first time the owner has been subjected to this type of crime as she was a victim in June this year. I would ask anyone who has information which can help us find who is responsible to contact police.”
