Police hunt Accrington park flasher
A ‘SMIRKING’ man flashed at a teenager in an Accrington park in ‘broad daylight’, before touching himself inappropriately.
Police said the 17-year- old girl was left ‘distressed’ by the incident, in Milnshaw Park, at about 8.45am on Mon-day.
The girl was walking her dog when she witnessed the man exposing himself. She told officers he then ‘touched himself while smirking’, before he left the scene.
Police are investigating the incident as an indecent exposure, and believe there could have been several other witnesses in the park at the time.
Detective Sergeant Kathryn Cussans, of Accrington CID, said: “This was a distressing incident for the girl, and the person responsible needs to be identified and brought to justice. It happened in broad daylight on a Monday morning, so I would imagine there were plenty of people around.”
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the park at the time, and may have seen this man, to contact the police.”
The girl has described the offender as in his 40s, of average height, and slim.
He had a pale complexion, and ‘fluffy strawberry blond hair’ that was flicked up at the front.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Accrington CID on 101. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
