A CHARITY that supports young carers has been nominated for Leigh Sainsbury’s Charity of the Year.
Friends of Young Carers provides respite for persons under the age of 18 who care for another family member.
The charity held a launch at the Parsonage Way supermarket that involved bag packing, a tombola, a book stall and raffles.
Project manager Paul Carroll said: “We rely on grants/donations to support the Charity and we are very grateful for becoming a Local Charity partner with Sainsbury's.”
The Charity looks to provide respite breaks to these young carers such as one off activities, weekly groups, trips out and one to one support such as a recent team building boating activity held at Scotsman Flash.
