A DAD has raised concerns about his child’s education following renovation work at Lowton Junior and Infant School.
The Lowton resident said he was worried about his 10-year-old son returning for the new school year as work started during the summer holidays was still being carried out.
“My son’s education is being disrupted because of this,” he said.
“The work was started in July and should have been finished by now but every time others and I have passed no work seems to be going on.”
Wigan Council said all parents have been made aware of the work that is being carried out and that it is on schedule.
A council spokesman added: “During the summer break, some remodelling work has been undertaken within the school enabling the pupils to be taught in their usual classrooms upon their return for the new school year.
“All works are being undertaken in accordance with the schedule but did require the school to close last Tuesday to enable the completion of one element of internal work. Pupils are receiving their teaching in appropriate allocated classrooms.”
