JADE'S CAMPAIGN: Council staff on hand to offer advice

COUNCIL staff were on hand to offer advice and hand out information to dog owners at Friday's launch of Jade's Campaign.
Sandra Green is an enforcement manager at Wigan Council who is passionate about helping people to learn how to look after their dog.
She said: “I think first and foremost microchipping is key to becoming a responsible owner.
“You need to give your pet a lot of love, car and attention, take it for regular walks and treat it as part of the family.
“Any dog can be dangerous, it is not just banned breeds and it is about how you look after and support your dog. That is the message we want to get out.
“I hope that people who are irresponsible with their dogs see this campaign and what could happen if you don’t look after their dog and I hope it is accepted and becomes a day to day norm for everyone.
“This is the first event but we want to create a sustained campaign that will see these things become part of everyone’s day-to-day lives.”
