Colourful invitation from Atherton Guide Dog centre
9:20am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in NW
STAFF at the regional Guide Dogs base at Atherton are celebrating Guide Dog Week with a high visibility theme.
Guide Dogs are inviting the community to help them celebrate the life changing moments their service provides by backing their week long event that runs until Sunday by organising a dress down day with everyone wearing bright colours. They are also encouraging people to stand out and donate to the charity by staging a back to the 80s party and raise money whilst revelling in the world of neon and fluorescent clothing.
Engagement Officer, Emma Allen-Taylor said: “We want people to stand out for Guide Dogs Week and embrace the high-visibility theme. Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind – by helping us for just one hour with a quick fundraiser, together we can make sure that those with sight loss are able to go where they want, when they want and get back home safely again – a gift for life.
“With the generosity of the public many blind and partially sighted people can now start living their dreams. We need your help to change the lives of the people who are living with sight loss in your local community. Together we can make their dreams come true.”
