A SOLDIER’S bike was stolen the day after he completed a charity cycle ride.
Adam Foster completed a Ben Nevis challenge with two friends but was shocked to discover his bike was taken from outside his home only a few hours after he returned from Scotland to Golborne.
After the seven-hour journey home Adam was loading his car to return to his training camp in Yorkshire when the Lapierre bike was taken.
Andy Markland completed the challenge with Adam. He said: “We were just so shocked when we heard that his bike was taken.
“There have been a few incidents where bikes have gone missing in Golborne recently but it was the fact he had just nipped back inside.
“The bike was only about six weeks old as he had got it specially for the challenge.”
Adam, Andy and their friend Phil Taylor rode 72 kilometres around Ben Nevis to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice on September 28.
