SCHOOL children have created mosaic in memory of a teacher who died suddenly.
Year four and five pupils - the last two classes that Adrian Bennett taught before he lost his battle with cancer in February - created the artwork with artist Mark Mennell.
The pupils from Chowbent Primary School in Atherton spent two afternoons designing and making the mosaic which will be unveiled in the school playground on November 5.
Sue Heapy, the chair of governors, said: “It has been very difficult for the staff and the children, the fact that one week he was there and fine, the next they were being told he was ill and then two months later that he had passed away. It was all quite quick but hopefully the mosaic will help us all deal with that.”
The staff also contributed to the mosaic, many of whom had known Mr Bennett during the 20 years he taught at the school.
